Great start. Can't wait to see as you progress...

Can't see good enough to sew the little one by hand so had to go big and sew on machine. love the tiny ones people do.

You are off to a good start! Keep going.

It's going to look very nice !!!

I like the larger hexies. A Grandmother's Flower Garden is on my "hope to do" list, but the smaller hexies look intimidating!

Looks great with the big hexies.

Big or small they're still GFG...there are big flowers in our gardens too, you know...have fun!

ManiacQuilter2 09-14-2015 06:49 AM

Very nicely done. The size of a hex is measured by the length of one side. Are you using a 3" hex?? I am thinking of making a table runner with something larger than a standard 1" hex.

I like the big ones best. I am currently working on a 4" machine sewn one, in between other quilts. Yours is going to be beautiful.

That's gonna be a beautiful quilt! Love it!

I really like the big hexies and love the fabric you are using. My avatar was made with 3" hexies and I'm working on a 2-1/2" one now and have 1-1/2" ones cut from my scraps for "someday".

Katiedid2 09-14-2015 08:07 AM

The big hexes are 6 1/2 inch and last nite I just had to try 3 1/2 and made 4 .. on machine.. so when the big one is done.. starting the 3 1/2.. I like the smaller better. there is a good video on pinterest that I watched on machine sewing them.

Lovely old -fashioned looking hexes.

twinkie 09-15-2015 03:41 AM

The big hexies are looking good. I don't know why you couldn't use a 5" charm pack to make the hexies. Great job.

Karen Mc 09-15-2015 10:16 AM

Very pretty!
