Big Stitch or variation on Big Stitch?

Which one do you prefer? I took my big stitched motif and added some whipped stitches to form a solid line for the branches. Or should I stick with it all being big Stitch?

I'm happy with just the big stitch..thats a beautiful size..very consistent. I have difficulty getting even stitches because I've hand quilted for so long, and find myself trying to get smaller and smaller bites. But I like the look, and yours especially.

I like all big stitch. I have to agree with mermaid, that's some really nice stitching.

The stitching is so pretty.

Now, see, I like the solid branch.

RJLinkletter 04-02-2018 10:20 PM

I like the solid branch but it doesn't make that corner more of a focal point - so I would say it depends if it detracts from the rest of the quilt or if you are happy for the corners to become a bit more of a focus.

I call one quilting and the other embroidery. Both are nice. I think it depends on what you are trying to emphasis. I look at quilting as a hidden picture, and embroidery as a main focus. Beautiful hand work.

i prefer the all big stitch. your stitching is perfect

margied 04-03-2018 04:05 AM

I like all big stitch. Very nice by the way!!

quilterpurpledog 04-03-2018 04:55 AM

Beautiful!. I like them both and each one projects a different feeling. Difficult to choose.

SusieQOH 04-03-2018 04:57 AM

I can't decide because they are both so nice!! You do great work.

SusieQOH 04-03-2018 04:58 AM

On second thought after really studying them I think I like the second one better. But I love both.

DJ 04-03-2018 05:09 AM

I like them both. Lovely stitching!

luvstoquilt 04-03-2018 05:16 AM

Love the big stitch and your perfect stitching.

DonnaPea 04-03-2018 07:23 AM

I would stick with all big stitch - and this is beautiful, by the way.

jlt37869 04-03-2018 01:08 PM

Both are nice!

They’re both beautiful, but I prefer the first, I like the contrast of the big stitch and the whip stitch.

I like them both but the big stitch alone is my favourite. Thank you for sharing.

I think either would look good. I like the big stitch personally.

momsbusy 04-04-2018 07:32 AM

I like both. Your big stitch reminds me of Sashiko.

I was thinking the same thing Rob.

So, do we "have" to choose; I like them both! The effects are wonderful either way.

JanieH 04-04-2018 02:33 PM

For this sample, I like the big stitch. But I think this is something to think about for quilts in the future and audition both styles.

ccthomas 04-04-2018 04:57 PM

I like all big stitch. Both are nice.

Innov8R 04-04-2018 05:01 PM

I'm green with envy at your gorgeous stitching. Both are really nice. I l especially like the big stitch.
