Binding Holder
1 Attachment(s)
Someone was talking about what they do with the binding when they sew it on the quilt. My DH made me this to hold mine. It works like a charm. I roll the binding onto a tp tube, slip it over the pipe (pvc pipe) and it rolls off just when I need it. Here is a photo. Also, someone told about the quilter's slidelock on a message. I got one and love it. I get such good info & tips from this board!

Wow! He's a genius!! Aren't our guys something (sometimes:)). My DH made a gadget to hold my cake decorating bags when I fill them. Also made one for my friend who does cakes. I'll have to show him you "binding tool."

looks like a great idea :)

Looks like a standing paper towel holder would do the trick also. Don't buy it new, check out the thrift stores.

I use a paper towel holder (one that stands up). I wind the prepared binding on a empty paper towel roll, put it on the holder, sit it on the floor to my right side and as I sew it on the quilt it rolls off the holder and is not in my way. It has worked out real well for me.

Looks good. I fold my bindings loop back and front, drop it between my feet and sew away.

I fold my ironed binding into a zip lock bag - end of the binding sticking out - and zip it up to the binding. Daughter thought it was great when she put on the binding.

nice tip... thanks for sharing

I use the same pvc pipe, but I slip ribbon thru the pipe and put it around my neck and the piping rules off very nicely. I wouldn't try to sew binding on any other way. I roll the binding on the pvc pipe as I fold and iron the binding in half.
