Bionic bag box
I love making the Bionic Bag but boy are there a lot of pieces to cut out and interface!
So I've come up with a system of sorts which I thought I'd share in case it helps others. It's a work in progress but it's helping me a lot! First I got one of those flexible cutting mats found in the kitchen section of Poundland (= UK Dollarstore). I marked it and cut it out in order to make a Bionic bag ruler! It so much easier to have this "ruler" rather than having to refer back to the instructions all the time. i made marks on the sides for each pattern piece. Using a HB pencil, I labelled each mark (obviously!) and noted how many of that piece was needed. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-b...o/IMAG2776.jpg I cut slots in the sides so I can cut the shapes easily with my rotary cutter. I find it easier to cut out extra pieces for a future Bionic if I think I only have enough of that particular fabric left for a Bionic piece so I've now got a dedicated Bionic bag Box where I store any bits ready for another bag(s). https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-8...o/IMAG2773.jpg Finally, I took my piece of interfacing I bought by the yard and cut it to the right width so it's ready to use. |
Good thinking...you'll be rolling out bags in no time!!!!

Very smart! I did something like that for small fabric bins that I give with quilts to hold diapers.

What a clever idea!!!
