A Bit of Post-Christmas Whimsey

1 Attachment(s)
I meet with a splinter group from my guild once a month, and we like to explore the mixed medium techniques. I began this in November and put it aside for Christmas. It finally crystallized into a tribute to one of my childhood heros. Madeline. This was one of the first books I remember my mother reading to me as a tiny girl.
19x19, cloth, paper, paint and sequin embellishments.
I call it "A Stamp for Madeline"
Enjoy.

I started with giving the printed fabric (french lit) a bit if a colour wah with permanent ink sticks. Copied Madeline from the internet and traced and painted the pics on to tissue paper. This was applied with dilute white glue. Other's use the commerical mediums. Next I found some french cancellation marks and enlarged and transfered one to washable stablizer. Then I went over it with my sewing machine. Thanks for looking. I outlined some of this on my site.
