You did a very nice job and don't blame you for wanting to keep it. love what you did with the hearts & butterflies, very nice stitching. I can only hope my 1st machine stitched quilt comes out as nice.

Thanks everyone for the sweet comments! I posted this, then couldn't get on the last couple of days due to time. :-) Its so nice to share, then see all the great comments.

The best part about this quilt is the story behind how I came to make it. I walked into our little local quilt shop, and I saw a quilt hanging on the wall just inside the entrance. It was this design but the background was different, the fabric for the petals was different, and it wasn't this shape. There wasn't a pattern for it - I asked and the woman who made the quilt was there working that day. She showed me the Quilt Smart product, and just gave me general measurements, kinda showed me how to put it together and after writing everything down (on the back of a business card no less), I left. I had many stops and starts with this quilt as I wasn't quite sure of how it was supposed to come together. I made one more trip to the store to see if I was doing it correctly. After that, I just decided to have fun with it, and go for it.
This is part of the reason I want to keep this for myself. It is the quilt I learned a LOT on. :) I can't wait for the weather to cool - it's currently 99 with a heat index of 107 here today in VA - to cuddle under my new quilt! Thanks again for all the great comments and the compliments.

And YES - I am now in love with variegated thread!
