I recently read a suggestion in Quiltmaker to use a fabric on the back that has a design that you can quilt from the back, upside down, so to speak. So if your backing has roses, you could quilt from the back and follow the rose pattern. Makes it interesting on top...if you want an overall design.

It isn't quilted yet. I finished the top today and am still try to decide how it should be quilted.
