Melanie states that it is "simple log cabin blocks, arranged in a barn raising pattern". What is a barn raising pattern? I have never heard of that term.

It's what makes that diamond shape. My blocks are half dark, half light, and twisted and turned them, laying them out to make the diamond shape.
