Fancyfoot sent me this quilt....
I have to say I was stumped a bit on planning this one...took me a bit...and she even sent me a picture ahead of time.

I asked her if she liked heavy or light quilting..she said medium to heavy...

so I decided to take tracing paper and trace the individual suit patterns in a particular fabric....then I took them to a copy machine and copied them at 300% ...then I again traced them on to tracing paper and placed them all over the quilt..so I could have the exact designs scattered all over the quilt....the original small ones I traced fit perfectly in each corner stone of the quilt. After I stitched the designs ..I filled everything else in with the nautical swirly type designs...and outlined the playing cards.

I did this all free hand..no pantographs...or computers...but I did use tracing paper to get the desired design and traced them free hand.

It is such an original fun quilt..what a pleasure to quilt! Thank YOu fancy foot!

Now that is using your ol' noggin! I would have been totally stumped on how to quilt that one. You came up with an ideal solution I think. If it was my quilt I would be thrilled with your final decision.
