A blessing for a dear friend
 

Last night I finished this quilt for a dear friend of mine from church who has been going through a very hard patch of life in the past 6 months as she was grieving for her grand-daughter who passed away at 14 because of complication with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. As they are all living under a same roof, Miss Lizzie was cared for lovingly by her whole family of course but her grand-ma was her special person with whom she baked cakes, crafted lots of things together, decorated the house for Christmas, etc.... so my friend had this feeling of having lost her purpose in life. Since she still needs lots of hugs, I told her that every time she uses this quilt, it was a hug from me :) Thanks for looking!!!

Please pass along my sympathy to the grieving family. How unfortunate that she's passed. However, she was lucky enough to be loved by so many people, especially her grandmother. Miss Lizzie lived a long time with hydrocephalus and spina bifida. My thoughts and prayers are with them. The next year will be hard on all of them, the year of 'firsts.'

It's a beautiful quilt Elfi....I am sure it will give much comfort during what is such a difficult time. Loss of any kind is sad...but seems even more so when they are so young.
