Blue Angel update
 

Thank you all so much for your opinions, I really appreciated them. After hemming and hawing I decided to go with #4.
I also chose to miter the corners and am pleased with the result. Now to think of a quilt design. I want to make it extra special so this will take me awhile to come up with something. Any suggestions from you great quilters??

Oh yes, I love the way it turned out. You did a really nice job overall and especially with your mitered corners. As to quilting, it depends on whether you want a lot or just enough to bring the beautiful design to the forefront. Whatever you decide will be gorgeous, I am sure of that.

Beautifully done (nice work with the mitres). To me, it seems a really restful, healing kind of quilt.

So it is an Angel in the middle! I couldn't tell what it was. Your quilt is still absolutely gorgeous! You did a wonderful job on it. Can't wait to see it quilted!!! So, have you decided how you are going to do it yet?

LOVE your quilt! If it were me, I'd put the names of each of the books in the bible into the sashings, stitch in the ditch each part of each block, put swirls & angels in the larger border and do a different (but simpler) motif in each 'angel' of each block. Gorgeous!
