OK, remember this quilt? I have it all sandwitched together, and now I'm stuck. I can't seem to decide how to quilt it. I am a machine quilter, and still trying to figure out the best way for me to mark a quilt top. Think I'm gonnal give up and buy a template burner and a quilt pounce. Anyway, I was thinking something curvy would be great since this is such an angular quilt. But what? I have also got this beautiful varigated blue thread to use, so I want it to show a little. In other words, I'm fairly certain I do not want to stitch in the ditch. I have thought of four or five different ways of doing it, but don't know what. Maybe draw curvy lines over the pineapple borders? Perhaps I should echo quilt, and find a pretty motif for the squares. Should I pick an all over pattern, like the baptist fan? (it's the only one that comes to mind right now). What do y'all think?

Dangit, let's try this again.

It's beautiful. The quilting part is not my strong point. Looking forward to what everyone else says

sorry, I don't have any experience except st in d, and crosshatch. I just came to drool too. It's very pretty. I also, look forward to what others will suggest, so i can learn what works with things. :D

Your quilt top is feeling pretty. A motif for the squares would be very nice. I'm still a novice at free motion so I'm not a lot of help. :?
|
Your quilt top is gorgeous! Sorry, I'm hopeless at figureing out how to quilt things. This seems to be a problem for a lot of us!
|
How about spirals in the light sections and rays in the dark? From the back, it would look like abstract suns.
|
That is beautiful! How did you baste it? I can't see any pins or threads. Because it not my strong point, I would just echo the blocks. Sooo pretty.
|
I like the Echo and motif suggestion. The pineapples are so pretty I would hate to see anything take away from them.

I just typed in www.webshots.com and once there typed in the search box pineapple quilts and you'll see over 700 photos. Some of them if you look closer at that persons work have close ups posted as well. Maybe something there will catch your eye.
