Blue Donation Quilt-almost free!
1 Attachment(s)
Several years ago I was given a lot of blocks, of various sizes, from the family of a lady that had passed away. I used 1 set of the blocks in this quilt and alternated them with a cute skateboard fabric I had in my stash. I also had the green binding fabric and used a blue sheet (sorry to those that just shuddered at the mention of using a sheet for backing) and quilted this in an overall meander. It was sent to a friend for a boys summer camp. She is trying to gather 35 quilts and currently has about 20! I'm glad I could add to her quest...and the most expensive part of it was the shipping...lol. Thanks for looking!

What a great quilt for a boy's summer camp. Nice job.

Pretty quilt. I love the skate board fabric. It brings back memories when my son was about 13, and began his skate boarding days.

Very nicely done and someone will love it!
|
I really like that quilt! Well done!
|
Wow, nice quilt!

I think it looks great. And now my opinion on the statement "To those who shudder when you use a sheet for backing." My friend and I were just talking about this very thing this morning. I have never seen anyone that received a quilt get out their team of inspectors and say "Was this made with $15.99 a yard fabric or is it a sheet?"
I have used sheets many times to back a quilt. If you think about how much wear a sheet gets, to me it makes perfect sense. And it fits my limited budget. |
very pretty quilt, love those fabrics. great job!

I love it, great summer camp quilt!!
|
Very pretty quilt! Perfect for the boys summer camp
|
A great quilt for a good cause!
|
Love your quilt and ideal for the boys!
I also use quilts whenever I can - love the feel of a used one that has been washed many times and "pre-softened" for the quilt. |
That's a great quilt! I'm a fan of using sheets for my scrappy quilts...no shuddering here. lol
|
Nice quilt.
|
great looking quilt.
|
very nice quilt!!
|
Very nice, I'm sure it will be appreciated at the camp.
|
Love how you made all of it come together and made such a great quilt!
I also completely agree with Twinkie regarding sheets as backing...I've used them, and I will again. Regards, Kif |
Very nice, some young man will appreciate it. Most charities are always short on quilts appropriate for teens...this one is perfect.
