i like at least one border on all quilts

I probably would add a border. Maybe a zinger (1/2 inch to 1 inch) of the red, and the darker blue on the outside? Or do you have a piece that sort of pulls all of the colors together; a print?

Yes...most quilts need at least a small border.....jmho :-D

sorry what is a zinger?

Many antique log cabins didn't have a border.

Depending on your size you might want to add just a narrow border -- the width of one of the strips -- in the red color and then bind it in blue.

Or a piano-key border using the colors inthe quilt, after a narrow border looks really nice on these quilts, too.

I think a border, possibly red, would make the block all come together and show off them off better. It is looking good, though. Keep up the good work.

I'd go with a red border, or at least a wide binding in the red.

IMHO All quilts need borders... but that's just me.

A zinger is a small border (usually 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches wide) that adds "zing" to your quilt and border. Not sure how to describe it. I also as a rule of thumb, use darker fabrics as my outside border. Tends to frame your quilt better and makes your eyes look inward toward the quilt. Light colors tend to make the eye want to look off the edge of the quilt...I am so bad at describing things. Sorry! Maybe someone can do a better job!

I agree.

I would use a simple border so as not to take away from the design of the log cabin itself. Beautiful quilt

My thoughts exactly.
