So I jumped on the bandwagon and made a bow tuck purse this weekend. I have never sewn anything remotely like a purse before, so I was very hesitant because I didn't want it to look "homemade" when I was done. I wanted people to look at it and say "You made that??" and since I had no purse making skills I was worried. But I found the directions to be pretty good, I only got confused on a few things, but was able to work most of them out. The only thing that went wrong was my ties ended up too short, but that's okay I think I like them shorter anyway.

I loved how I could make the pockets fit what I usually carry, I own a nook and a Kindle so I made a pocket big enough to fit one of those and then I made a pocket to fit my camera too. Instead of quilting I added a blue flower bead with an orange seed bead on top. I like the look of it. Enjoy my pics!!

Great fabric, and love the bead idea, might have to borrow that one from you.

That turned out great. Love the colors. I guess the Easter Bunny got in your purse and left you some goodies.

Hehe my son gave me 4 of his Easter eggs and put them in my purse so I would know they were mine! :)

I just used cottons. I don't know that my machine could have handled anything thicker, some of the parts you are sewing through almost 10 layers! (on the handles)

Thanks everyone for the compliments, it was so fun to make!

Cheers!

You know one of my great frustrations when I used to make my own clothes (back in the olden days......) is that when they were completed people would say, " I like your dress, etc., you made it didn't you?"

But, your purse says "Store Bought"--(yes, that's a compilment and also inspiration for me to make one as well)

Thanks so much!! It was funny but someone else told me that that saw it in person, and she was apologizing for it!! LOL I told her not to apologize, I take it as a great compliment!! (And it's a great compliment to the pattern maker too!!) I had so much fun making it and though I am a tad sad that people don't ask if I made it, since they assume I didn't, it's fun to tell people and see their reaction. :) :)

Cheers!

Go for it!! I was surprised that I was able to actually follow the instructions as I am not really a pattern type person. So if I can do it, anyone can!! :)
