bow-wow pot holders

My sewing group is finally getting back together next week, now that we've all gotten through vaccinations. We haven't gathered as a group for over a year, and I'm so looking forward to it! I found this panel of really cute dog pictures, and decided to make pot holders to take everyone. One gal in particular loves anything canine, so I'm sure she will love hers.
Sorry bout the stray threads in the close-up shot; I guess I've got some cleaning up to do before Friday!

What a coincidence, I just ordered 2 of those panels, will be making a quilt for our local humane society for their fundraising event for next February, just started one for their December raffle.

Very cute!

Those are adorable! Enjoy your get together. I had my 2nd shot today and am looking forward to seeing family again!

Do you put anything special in potholders to make them more heat resistant?

Adorable fancy dogs. Cute potholders.

I use a layer of 'insul-bright" (usually from Joann's) and a layer of regular batting.

The panel is "Blend Fabric Floral Pets More Puppies" by Mia Charro. I've seen it at many online shops -- I got mine from batiks.com.

Too cute to use to pull a stick pie from the oven or to lift a pot of soup from the counter to the table.https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...s/rolleyes.png Some doggy lover will be thrilled.

These are absolutely adorable. I wish I was in your group. I see that another lady commented she had just purchased the same panel. Would one of you mind sharing where you found this panel? I have several dog loving/owner friends and just feel like they would love to have a little gift. Thank you.

I like the idea, they are sew cute.

Thoughtful and fun gifts for your sewing friends. Do you have a serger or did you use a zigzag stitch?

Neither .... I used one of the blanket stitch settings on my DSM.

I don't remember which I did ... don't think it really matters.

sewingsuz 05-04-2021 06:57 PM

That is a great idea to serge around the edge.
