Bowl cozies are Great!

Never heard of a bowl cozie....until now. Replicated idea from someone that showed spiral stitching in bottom before joining front to back. I cut 2 pieces from coordinating fabrics and decided to switch to one of each. They look like a matched set!

Great project...I’m sure they will be a handy item to have or gift. Nicely done Ashley.

I love mine and use it regularly for hot or cold items (ie: soup, oatmeal and ice cream) Decided to make at least one for my brother-in-law who moved near us last year, as a stocking stuffer. His main gift is a flannel lap quilt. Love your fabrics!

Last Christmas I made bowl cozies for most of my family and friends and even added bowl for each of them. I came across bowls at Gordon Food Service that were on the reduced shelf and had 50 bowls that were perfect for this project. I am getting ready to make some more and prepping kits for my quilt guild. They are easy and a lot of fun to make.

I’ve done the spirals in the bottoms of mine for years. They hold better and maintained their shape. Also a recommendation. You can eliminate the spike corners by cutting the corners at an angle. I’ve tried this and like them better.

Cute cozies!

Those are very pretty.

I find that I forget to use mine and then need to figure out how to get my hot bowl out of the microwave. I'm thinking of making a round, flat "pot holder" to just leave on the turntable in the microwave and it will always be there when I need it. I would probably need to have more than one, so that I can have one in the wash. I know it wouldn't stay clean.

Never made these but from what I know, we must use 100% cotton fabric AND thread.

Those are beautiful bowl cozies! I like the spiral quilting too. I've used Crafty Gemini's YouTube tutorial for bowl cozies although I have to size up for our wide Fiestaware bowls. She has you round the tips. And they're reversible.

Thanks for the idea of making these as holiday gifts! I think I'll do that too.

Yes I showed the spiral quilting in the bottom and think it holds the shape better. Your cozys are nice and very one that you give one too appreciates the gift. Have a great time sewing for the holidays. Nice work !
