That is awesome and I Love scrappy quilts.

auntdeb 03-05-2018 06:31 AM

Wow! You need to do some more "what if" things. Love how the strips are different colors. I too would like a tutorial on your process. Gorgeous quilt. Nice twist on a traditional pattern.

Fabulous 3-D effect! I really like this. Thank you also for posting those great closeups so we could see your blocks that form this great tumbling block effect.

JanieH 03-05-2018 07:45 AM

Thanks, everyone.

I haven't written up formal instructions for this one yet, but I hope to soon. It is based on a rectangular foundation paper with a triangle in the center.

What a great inspiration you had! It's beautiful.

Jane Quilter 03-05-2018 12:25 PM

This is awesome. You have so inspired me. My string box is too full. can you tell us what size are the blocks? and / or the size of the triangle? If I did a similar quilt, the width of my strings would not be an exact width, but would vary. I would love to give this a try...even if it is just a small sample. Thanks. Jane Q

This is awesome! We do lots of our charity quilts as string quilts. Please, if you would share your pattern, we would be most grateful.

ArtsyOne 03-06-2018 06:55 AM

I've made string blocks and I've made baby blocks, but your "what if" definitely elevates the pattern. Thanks so much for the good close-ups so that we can take inspiration from you.

sharin'Sharon 03-06-2018 09:34 AM

Your 'original' is awesome. Thanks for sharing. Maybe you need to patent a pattern.
