Hi,
Have to let you know...this is so similar to another bowl I saw at a fabric shop a few years back and I am so glad that you posted it.

The woman that made it there just used blocks with Christmas fabrics instead of your fancier blocks and made them to put pointsettais (excuse my spelling) in them for nursing home residents. When I first saw your thread, I was thinking that I would love to find a pattern to replicate one. (I had asked on another forum but no one had seen this style before).

So, anyway, I am really grateful that now I can try one out. And, a little spooked that I had just been thinking about them when I opened your thread.
So, thank you,
lots2do

I am so glad you mentioned about this pattern being good for Poinsettia pots. My daughter's mother in law is in a nursing home here on Mt. Desert Island in Maine. She is dying of lung cancer. I will make one of these and put a plant in it for her if she makes it to Christmas. Please say a prayer for her. We are having Hospice come in. They are absolute angels!

Marie,
It might only hold a small one but it would be lovely. Sending you my warm wishes. I was just in Ellsworth visiting a relative who also has lung cancer. Small world.
Take care,

Very nice. What is the name of the book you used. I would like to give it a try.

I saw this in a book as well - and I believe I saved the pattern for future use - but the thing that made me giggle was that in the picture of the finished for the pattern the points were way off! My friend and I just laughed. We figured if the designer couldn't do it right then I doubted if we could but I know that's selling us short!

Just adorable and what a clever idea! doesn't take up much room in your kitchen cabinets either when not in use! Just love it!
