Here are two of the nine blocks I will be doing for this quilt. Sylvia was my aunt and Alice was one of my grandmothers. Sylvia died from breast cancer in September of 2002 and Alice died from breast cancer in September 1993.

Here is a little more at 3:30am on Feb 3rd seeing as how I couldn't fall asleep. But now I am tired and sleepy so I am going to bed after I post this. There will be 5 more blocks added with names so that the Race For A Cure is in the middle of the quilt. I have been sandwhiching and quilting the blocks as I go.
Laura was a friend of mine who died from breast cancer in October of 2004 just a few days before Halloween.

Very nice! That's a wonderful way to remember family and friend.

Very nice! But maybe you are the one who can answer my question I had posted earlier about the quilting as you go. I need pics sometimes to help me visualize. I understand how you do the individual block but how do you connect the one to the other without having a big bulky seam on the back. Can you show me a pic of the back or show me a step by step of the joining on your next blocks. I would love to finally comprehend this. I am sure once I do I am going to be like..."Duh how stupid were you to not get it before." Thanks if you can help.

here is what the back looks like. I used heavy starch on the back to get the seams to lay down. I may go back in later and cut some of the excess seam, I am not sure.

Thanks Celeste :)

Newquiltertoni, I hoped that helped some. If I need to I can show you me joining them together later. :)

What a nice and thoughtful tribute to your loved ones. It's looking really nice Henry. Good job.

Thank you Pam. I am also going to add some survivors to it as well.

Thanks that helped some but I am still curious about the seams showing on the back. You just leave them like that or do you sew something else on it to get a smooth look. If you could post more work in progress it would be nice. Thanks
