Thanks for the information OdesssaQ. I've found quite a bit of web info on them, but you're one of the first persons who seems to be familiar with them. I thought they would be a fun gift anyway when I saw the cross-stitches.

Supposedly we also hang a pickle ornament on the tree. Never heard of either "tradition." (in case you don't know: I was born and raised in the old country)
