Look at that great smile. And who wouldn't be smiling if they were given that beautiful quilt. Wish I had something that wonderful in my "inventory."

JudieRQuilting 07-12-2011 09:15 AM

You can't get a better reward than that huge grin! Beautiful quilt.

amma 07-12-2011 09:52 AM

Awww that big smile on her face says it all!
Looks like you made the perfect choice :D:D:D

Quilter54 07-12-2011 11:08 AM

Something tells me she likes it alot. That was so nice of you to give her a quilt. Very beautiful young lady I might add.

My time 07-12-2011 12:33 PM

How thoughtful. How many pieces are in this beauty?

rivka 07-12-2011 12:40 PM

That is a stunning quilt! What is the pattern?

quilterella 07-12-2011 12:48 PM

The quilt pattern is called "Cantebury" and is a free download from Red Rooster Fabrics. There are approx 178 - 4 patches (maybe more because I made it bigger) and approx 88 plain patches (again maybe more). Thankyou everyone for your generous compliments. I must say, it was a very humbling experience to give a quilt to such a wondeful young lady.

What a way to welcome Bridget back into the fold of her family

noveltyjunkie 07-12-2011 01:50 PM

You did a great thing there. That quilt is perfect for her, and will always remind her of the welcome she received from her mother's people. Being made from so many small pieces seems to symbolize something. It is really beautiful.

She looks happy, which is all that matters. I hope that she wants to and is able to stay in touch with everyone.

desertrose 07-12-2011 03:18 PM

From that smile I'd say Bridget loved your choice and her reunion with the family. DH do have good ideas occassionally and your quilt is beautiful.

Love this sentiment ("forever hug") and totally concur!!

poultney 07-12-2011 05:29 PM

Beautiful and it looks like Bridget thinks so too. Goes to show how much your DH appreciates your work to suggest taking her one of your quilts. These are the best gifts when you give someone something out of love. God's Blessing on you.

What a good heart you have! It's beautiful and a crazy amount of piecing!

MargeD 07-13-2011 01:07 PM

Love the colors and she looks very excited to get the quilt. Isn't it great when we make a quilt and the recipient is overjoyed to get it?

Looks like Bridget is estatic. Your quilt is absolutely beautiful and you made her so welcome. What a touching story.

DebbieJJ 07-18-2011 05:36 AM

Love the story, too sad that she didn't see you all for so long, but she knows now that she is still loved by all of you. Love the quilt, and it looks like she did, too.
