I would just use it in smaller amounts to control the brightness.
Instead of black, use the darker shades in the flowers, like the blue that's with the turquoise, the darker of the greens. |

I started playing... just to see how.. Did 30 deg triangles for this. Will do again with 60. All on computer have not picked up cutter yet. All ya'll so smart. I have never done anything like this..below is the 30

I like the first graphic that was posted except for the center hibiscus, it is more tropical than the flowers in the fabric.
If you want to tone it down try tea or coffee dying it. It will mute the colors a bit. |
I agree with GailG, a Kaliedoscope quilt. There's been several other pics posted with some "loud" fabric used for these types of quilts and the finished product is beautiful!

I was looking for something at Connecting Threads site earlier this evening and, while there, I browsed through their "Free Patterns"; there are 2 that might do well with your bright flowers. One is called, "Island Botanical Block" and the other is "Lavender Orchids Block". Although you do not have orchids, I thought the same concept would work well with the your floral print.
