This is all I have of this one done but the top will be aproximately 38" square when done and I need it to be 40" x 52" square. How can I accomplish this without making it look bad? I have no material in my stash to match it and don't have the money to go buy any. The brown is a mottled brown and the white is some white on white with flowers on it. Please help! Am also posting a link to here under main.

Do you have a print that might look good with it, as a border? Or do you want to stick with solid colors? I have some different prints, floral and fall leaves. Elaine

I see where you are going with this. It does not have to be the same when making the border. I'll go through my colors and see if I've got a print that will go good with this. The brown is mottled and the white is a white on white with flowers

Just to be sure: Are you saying that you have (or will have) 7 strips @7 brown and white HSTs?

Here is one option: After you put the center together decide which direction you want to use as your "long" side. Then plan a 6" border on each long side and applique vines and leaves on it. (You can easily stay in your monochromatic color scheme and use a similar white on white or even a muslin) Then run a 1" border around the entire rectangle with a patterned brown.

I want to take a moment and thank everyone who has offered help on this problem. I was just glancing at my stash this morning and I saw the perfect offset to my existing materials AND the right way to use it. Am going to ask Admin if he can remove this entire thread since the problem is solved.
