Butterfly Baby Quilt

DH's beloved aunt passed away earlier this year, before her first great grandchild was due. Almost two years ago I made her this quilt ( http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...y-t230482.html ) because she loved butterflies so much. When I saw her pregnant granddaughter at the burial I just knew what to make for the baby. I made the smaller size quilt that is included in the pattern, in the colors of her nursery, and took Aunt Barb's favorite sweatshirt. I fussy cut one of the butterflies from the sweatshirt and appliqued it to the quilt tag. Another cousin is due in a few months, one of Aunt Barb's other grandchildren, so I saved a butterfly for that quilt, too. |
