Butterfly Quilt without Corners
1 Attachment(s)
A couple times a year I meet with some friends of mine at an area hotel for a weekend and take sewing projects to work on. We set up our sewing machines in the hotel ballroom and just "play" the entire weekend.
The most recent weekend, I took one main project and a bunch of smaller stuff. My main project was from a book I'd purchased because of the picture on the cover of a butterfly set in a round quilt. Well, I took the material I'd picked out, sewing supplies, and new ruler Friday morning of the weekend, and by dinner time on Saturday, I created (from cutting strips, to piecing and arranging) the quilt top in the attached picture. I was amazed at how quickly it went together! The quilt top is about 50 inches in diameter and is destined to go on top of our round dining room table...not to be used in conjuction with food! Sorry about the picture--the only place I could find with enough light to take the picture was on the floor in front of our front door. |
That is a beautiful pattern. Great job.

Beautiful.
I have both of the books and I, too, bought the one because of the design on the cover. Looking at yours, I think it is nearly time for me to get the books out and make something. |

Great! Glad to hear it goes together quick. My wife purchased the book last weekend and told me she wants me to make her a monarch in two pieces and make into roman shades for her craft room windows. I don't want to get to delayed on MY projects
