My opinion, the tassels should STAY. How lively; what a fun piece.

What happened to your great instructions I saw yesterday?
I didn't get them printed out, boo-hoo! I liked your version better than the paper pieced version. |

I didn't get them printed out, boo-hoo! I liked your version better than the paper pieced version. http://happyvalleyquilter.blogspot.c...-all-buzz.html Yes, I like this version better too than any PP version! I started by cutting 4.5" squares because I didn't want the block any smaller than 4"(cut size). My blocks finish at 3.5" ea for a 7" whole block. So whatever size you want your blocks to finish at, just add 1" to determine your cutting size and voila! Please note, I did use 1/8" seams!!! This is a great easy pattern!! You don't have to worry about matching anything up too much in this quilt except the 4 small blocks to meet nicely! I love patterns like this. The nice thing about it is that you get bonus blocks making it! For every HST (half-sq. triangle) you make, you get an extra block!! So when I was done, I thought why not use these extra blocks for a border!! I sure was glad they didn't become "more" orphans!! And it added to the color theme of the quilt. Hope this helps, caliquocat! Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be glad to help out with it. Can't wait to see your version of Buzz Saw!! Happy quilting to you!! :D :D :D ;-) |
That really pops with the tassels. Haven't seen that done before. You were thinking outside the box & that's how great thinkers begin.
