Calendula Padderdrip's Cottage

The pattern (Calendula etc.) is a Crabapple Hill pattern. I finally finished it after working on it off and on for a year -- that plain stitch over and over got boring after a while! The original pattern was huge, so I reduced it to 66% of the original, and made a wall hanging that measures 46 wide by 54" high. After tracing the pattern onto your background, you color it with crayons, press with a paper towel over the crayons to set them, baste it onto muslim, then do the embroidery. I used a two-color ombre embroidery thread from Seasons, with only brown and rust in the thread, was a great thread to work with. I really like the way it turned out, hope you enjoy taking a peek at it. I also included some shots of the detail you can't see in the big picture. Thanks for looking.

This is beautiful! How can I get my hands on the pattern ?

Your quilt turned out very nice. I tried to do the crayon thing once. But, I never finished it. After seeing yours and how well it turned out, It makes me re-think. I guess I'd better drag it back out and finish it. Thanks for the inspiration!
