Call this a Controlled Scrappy?
2 Attachment(s)
My vow again this year is to use up my stash. I love the look of a full-on "pull a piece out of the paper bag and sew it" method of scrappy quilts, but I also want to use up some of the bigger pieces given to me by a lady who had a stroke and could not quilt anymore. The mauve was probably from the 90s, when we were using country blue and mauve. As you can see from the bottom picture, I didn't want the background of the blocks to be too bright so I used the wrong side. (I use wrong side a lot.) This will go to the charity I sew for, and did not add side and top borders because would have put it bigger than the maximum size they want to work with, 40" x 56". Thanks for looking.

Lovely. Looks great! Luann

that quilt is just wonderful! Even though it's scrappy, it looks elegant! I loved pieced sashing.

Fun scrappy! The backside for the triangles looks nice. I like the block in the top left, it kind of looks like a flag. :)

very pretty, love the secondary design

What a darling quilt judy! I like the old time mauve and blue quilts. My first elenore burns quilt in a day was those colors in a log cabin and my friend still has it.

I think it's cute!

Wonderful look as a scrappy, and smart to use the wrong side.
