Here are a couple of pictures from the couple hundred quilts on display. When I got there I discovered that my camera battery was low. I took as many pictures as it would let me. I won't be able to put them all on but here are a few that peaked my interest.

my favorite colors!!! My friends would call a quilt this color a "Gayle" quilt

Sorry you were unable to make it Shaverg. Hope you're feeling better!!!
I went with 4 other friends, two of us shared a wheelchair, taking turns. My good friend Sue (and the mother of my Son-in-Law) had a knee replacement done in February, I have a torn meniscus in my right knee, surgery scheduled for May 25. We pushed each other most of the time cause the wheelchair made a nice walker for us too!!!
I only bought 2 patterns and 1 fq of fabric. I am trying to be somewhat good. I have another wedding (3 in 3 years) to pay for in October!!!!

Gayle,

I had to laugh while looking at these pictures, they are the ones I would have taken, too! We could be 2 of those crows sitting on that clothes line.

I also collect Asian prints, have about 25 yards, about enough to get started on.

I also take pictures of FMQ and the free edge flowers.

Only goes to show my quilts will never be entered into a show. These quilts are so beautifully done. Wish I was only 1/4 as talented.

Is this the show that was in Ventura this weekend? I was planning on going and stopping at the outlet mall on the way home, but it just didn't work out. Thanks for sharing your pics!

Yes, this was Saturday and Sunday. I could not make it until Sunday because of a Ladies Luncheon at church that We put on. We have our own quilt show there so none of us entered any quilts at the guild show.

You know, I have never entered a quilt into a quilt show other than the one we do at church every Mother's day. That one is not judges.
This show was open for all guild members to enter any quilt they wanted. There were quite a few simple quilts by beginning quilters there. I saw a couple of Yello Brick Roads, a Warm Wishes, quite a few simple log cabins. Of course most of us only take pictures of what we find interesting or something that we may want to sorta use someday.
Don't be afraid of entering something. I may for our next guild show, in two years.

Thanks so much for sharing your pictures of the show. I loved them one and all.

Wow - those are wonderful quilts. I like that technique with the leaves. Looks really three dimensional. The irises and the arrows are just stunning. The fabric choices for the Christmas box really made the pattern stand out.

Oh man--I loved this show you provided!! Thank you so much. One in particular was inspiring.... okay--maybe five--but I can't begin to make something like the others. Those scenes were stunning.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim's Gem 05-03-2010 06:31 PM

One of the things about going to quilt shows is it gives you so many ideas about patterns and color usage and inspiration to try it!!!
I love to look. Just wish I had more time to quilt!!!
