i got the prints in a big bundle of fabrics i found on craigslist
i decided to use them to practice my 1/4" seams... the 5 yr old decided she would help by handing me the strips to sew together... in the process, she decided i was sewing her a play quilt lol... so even though i was sooo not happy with the whole idea lol, i finished the quilt... the goal was to only take a couple pictures, but the "take 1 like this, mommy" for over an hour caused me to end up with tons lol... but heres a few of my little camera ham with the quilt she insisted got made just for her lol
I only tied it and didnt bother quilting it, since its only a play quilt am already making her a real bed quilt, took me forever to do the binding by hand considering its only 57" square, i worry how long the bedquilts will take to bind lol

A very good use of fabric and practice :D She is soo happy and she also can get credit with the building of her new quilt. She was a very important part in making it :D

Looks like your little helper did a good job handing you strips. She is going to have fun with this one, she can play with it all she wants and does not need to worry about getting it dirty.

I like the quilt and you can see it makes your DD happy. Many, many years ago I made a practice quilt for my DD to use as a sleeping mat. I had no idea what I was doing (now I know it was string piecing) and I thought it was pretty ugly. Fast forward to present day--When I was visiting my daughter recently I saw she still has the quilt. It must be special to her cause it's survived a number of moves and a divorce. I'm sure your DD will treasure this quilt and the memory of helping you make it.

Awwwwhhhh! She's gonna treasure that quilt for a VERY long time! Bet she even feels like she made it since she handed you all the fabric - how cute is that! I can't wait til my grand daughter is old enough to be interested.
