I just finished a quilt for a friend who is expecting a new grandbaby. The mom is decorating in "camo", and she asked me if I could come up with something. So here was my idea. She loved it. I used the scraps to make some burp cloths to match. I got the pattern at http://www.quilterscache.com/T/TumblingBlocksBlock.html

Oops, I forgot to attach the photos. The front is flannel. The back is a matching cream color cotton.

It was made from flannel, and quilting it was my demon! Talk about arthritis!!!

I even put prairie points on the edge.

Baby Gracie is "catching" the demons that live under quilts.

What a clever quilt! I love tumbling blocks. You paper pieced the entire thing? The new mom will be so thrilled!

That is a unique way to use the camo. I don't think i have seen one as pretty as that, what if they can't find the baby in all the camo?????????????

This is a wonderful use of the fabric and your imagine. My hat is off to you! :)

I have copied the pattern link. This would be one paper-pieced pattern I would try. I have a sampler quilt in mind as a long term goal to use up part of my stash.

Thanks for sharing your work, SaraVincent.

Piecefully yours,
Kay Susan

No, I didn't paper piece it! I just cut the diamonds and half diamonds. I just patchwork sewed it. I was surprised at how easy it was, and I was also afraid that the half diamonds would show. But they didn't. It was so much fun that I will surely try this again.

My friend's daughter said they were doing to decorate with camo to honor the military. My friend Nancy thought she said CAMEL, and with horror imagined "Joe Camel" for a baby! So it was a good laugh when she said Camoflauge!

Love the way you used the camo. I at one time had some of that exact print. I can not remember what I used it all on but it is a fun fabric to work with. I am sure the recievers will feel very blessed to get this treasure.

That is really cute....nice job....I have yet to make it past straight lines....

Darn! I didn't notice until it was posted on this nice big screen that it was so blurry. And now it's with the new owner. But hopefuly you get the idea. I was doubtful about this pattern, but I LOVE IT now - even without the paperpiecing.
