cleaning and sorting fabric. Everything that was less than 2 yds is now cut into 2.5 inch strips. That way I can make log cabin blocks when I get my mojo back.

Diane007 07-14-2012 05:37 AM

Waiting to see a picture of your log cabin block

suebee 07-14-2012 05:50 AM

WOW, very neat and tidy :) Good to get some of this done while you are pondering :)

barny 07-14-2012 05:52 AM

Golllleeee! You are one neat person. I love what you are doing. It looks almost as pretty as a quilt.

I liked seeing the strips stacked up and ready to be used in a project. It inspires me to stack my strips. By stacking them I will be getting ready to make a log cabin when the inspiration hits me---usually in the middle of the night when I have so many other projects going at the same time, and I am not particularly wanting to be in the design mode --- the stacked strips was just totally inspirational.....I plan to do this during times when I am stuck in a no-sewing mode, too, and yet I am wanting to be handling "color" and "patterns" and "textiles"..... this was a good post!!

Oooooh...GREAT idea! I have so many pieces in my stash now I really need to start producing. lol

BrendaY 07-14-2012 08:56 AM

YES! So nice to have the strips all ready and waiting for inspiration to strike..

SouthPStitches 07-14-2012 09:10 AM

The important thing is you are still thinking of the quilting process and have your hands on the fabric. Time well spent!

jojosnana 07-14-2012 09:13 AM

What a great idea. I will be reorganizing my fabric soon so I think I will borrow your idea.

kittenquilts 07-14-2012 09:15 AM

Great idea! You are so organized!

Latrinka 07-14-2012 09:23 AM

Awe, sew nice and neat! Pretty fabs too!

Sewfine 07-14-2012 09:25 AM

Well at least that is a start. You are getting ready for that mojo to kick in.

nannyrick 07-14-2012 09:36 AM

That is a great idea.I,m sure you will be up and running soon.

Love making log cabins. Did that when recovering from shoulder surgery. Made over 90 very, very, large squares, and pull them out once in a while and make lap quilts out of four or six of them.

Tweety2911 07-14-2012 01:48 PM

Your strips look great and should tickle your mojo into gear!

#1piecemaker 07-14-2012 02:07 PM

Wow!! You've been busy!! I'm just getting my Mojo back on. Its been on hold for a couple of months!! Your's will come too! right when you least expect it. You'll see something and think, "I've got to make that"!!!!!!

kathdavis 07-14-2012 02:39 PM

Darn! You have done the hard part. I always put off the cutting, but can sew for hours.

nygal 07-14-2012 02:43 PM

That is a great idea of pre cutting your scraps so they are ready for when the mood hits to use them. I may do that with the less than fat quarters that I have left over from many projects.

AuntieD 07-14-2012 03:01 PM

Nice fabric.

I'm impressed! I wish I was a tenth that organized! Here's hoping you get your groove back super soon so we can start seeing more of your fabulous work! Until then, you go, girl (with the cutting & sorting)!!!

I second that! I just now am getting my "itch" back. This was the longest I'd gone without sewing (tho it didn't seem to slow down my fabric purchases... LOL!) so I know where you're coming from. I'll send good, quilty thoughts your way!

hairquilt 07-15-2012 04:53 AM

Yup It took me 3 months to iron & cut strips from my stash for the quiltville method. 3 tubs full will probably make 25 quilts!

Jammin' Jane 10-09-2012 01:16 PM

That's amazing! Thanks for the inspiration! :)

rebeljane 10-10-2012 01:48 AM

wolph33 10-10-2012 11:05 AM
