Hi Guys:
It's a rainy, dreary day so I had some time to think about alot of nothing while I watched the raindrops fall. Can you guess what this pile of quilt pieces will make? Name the block if you can. Feathers Guess what these pieces will make...the name of the quilt block! |
I'm going to guess a scrappy storm at sea...I truly have no clue, but I love the fabrics :)
Grandmother's flower garden
Is it roses or bows? I like the colors tho :D .
I was going to say Grandmother's flower garden as well. Pretty colors!!
Baskets of flowers
Oh! You guys are so good but alas, this pile of fabric will NOT be:
1. Grandmother's Flower Garden, MaryQuiteContrary..I've been wanting to try Grdma's Flower Garden but not right now. Good Guess, tho. 2. Baskets of Roses, SewnSewer.. I've never seen a block by this name. Must find it and check it out. Your guess was a good one. 3. NOT Disappearing 9 Patch, sorry BEACHLADY. Good guess, tho. 4. BARNBUM, Good guess but no brass ring! Keep guessing! |
I am going to say disappearing 9 patch since you want to make the pile go away!!! Great fabric.
Trip Around the World!!??
Dresden Plate ?
Well.... it looks like all of the fabric are cut into strips. I'm going to guess log cabin of some type. Very pretty fabrics.
Oh sewsew, you are so right, thanks for the clue about the strips lol, yup, i say log cabin for sure too, or maybe a split 9 patch? Feathers you are such a tease :)
A bow tie quilt? It looks like your fabric was made into Bows. Love the colors, it should be bright and cheery
Now that I look at it again I can see that each pile is sewn into an open type triangle thingy and I know just what pattern it is going to be, but I am not going to tell!!!! RIGHT!! Got me Feathers.
small flying geese?
cathedral windows?
I agree with Moonpi-I am thinking flying geese too

Sorry I didn't get back to this...Been so busy making the DRESDEN PLATE blocks for my new quilt! THIMBLEBUG, you are the first right guesser. Good job. I knew you'd all turn a dreary, rainy day into something fun and you all did. THANK YOU!!! Feathers |
Thanks for enlightening us Feathers, we have all been wondering WHAT you were gonna produce....look forward to seeing the finished quilt soon :D
Thanks Feathers that was fun. Waiting with anticipation to see the quilt.
Ok smarty pants...... Now we want pictures
yes we want progress pictures.....
Thanks everyone for making this fun for me...these rainy days HAVE to have a velvet lining in the thunder clouds! I have 4 of the blocks sewed together and it looks like it's going to be a really pretty quilt. The pattern is in October 2008 McCalls Quilting Magazine...it's called "FanFare." It's suppose to be made with 1930's fabric but I didn't have enough for all the blocks AND I wanted to use up my scraps but I've kept the fabric choices to small prints. As soon as I get the blocks all together I'll post a pictures.
Feathers,
This was really fun guessing what you were going to do. Thanks for the excitement. Now, I'm ready for a picture or two. Just one block would be nice, a teaser of sorts. C'mon, where's the picture????? :!: |
I agree. You have teased us along this far so tease us some more with pictures along the way. It was fun to watch this progress but I was really glad when you said what it was going to be.
How about a sneak peek of one of the blocks. please.......with sugar on top. :D

Get out the sugar, whip cream and cherries...I put the block together so you could see it...go to the "pictures" thread to see it. Of all the quilts I've made I love the Dresden Plate best. The actual quilt won't be finished for quite sometime as they do seem to be alot of work but I just love the finished product. Thanks for participating in my wet weather guessing game. You are all great!
