I just finished quilting a customer quilt, and she requested I add this in around the quilt in several spots. Can you tell what it is?

A bikini? A set of much-nicer-than-I-wear-to-DH's-dismay undies?

Lisa T 06-15-2009 11:50 AM

It's very cute and I LOVE the brown floral fabric on there. Do you know what line that is from?

greenfairy 06-15-2009 11:57 AM

That's a good question. I'm not sure which line it's from. It was a customer quilt, so I never found out. I'll see if I can find out though.

It looks like a bikini to me! Very cute!

Shemjo 06-15-2009 12:44 PM

It does look like a bikini brief to me. I don't like low riders myself, I like loose granny bloomers! :?

I didn't notice the bikini top straight away either, but what an interesting addition to the quilting. Is it just peculiar to this particular quilt, or does she have bikinis on every quilt?

Chele 06-15-2009 01:28 PM

Just look at that quilting! I am drooling!

kluedesigns 06-15-2009 03:57 PM

did you use CompuQuilter to do the pattern?

Mousie 06-15-2009 04:02 PM

well, i take it that your customer is a skinny-minnie, lol, and needed a quilt to take to the beach or lake. Nice job you did on it too. I also like that brown fabric. wish we could see more of it. :D

littlehud 06-15-2009 04:35 PM

Wow. A bikini. I used to wear one many many many (ok, it was a long time ago) years ago. :D :D :D :D That sure is cute.

greenfairy 06-15-2009 05:35 PM

That's a good question. I actually drew up a template, traced it onto the quilt, then free handed it in. The customer I did it for wanted palm trees, hammocks, bikinis, flip flops, and suns. I had to make templates for some, but free handed the rest. I love free handing what I do, it personalizes the quilt for me. It was a fun quilt.

So cute - and would love to see more of your free-hand free motion quilting. Maybe you'll do a tutorial for us!
