While we were on holiday last week, dh and I were browsing round a quilt shop and I spotted this great bag! Lovely man that he is (lol!)...he bought it for me, but I cant seem to find out anywhere what the pattern is called!
I really should have asked the lady in the shop (she was the one who made it) but I just did'nt think at the time!
I think it's a pp pattern...and I love it.......so can you help identify it?

Karen - Its a log cabin twist, try googling that, I think I have a pattern for it, if so I will post it here when find it!!

How's your shoulder doing, are you able to sew now?? :D

Yep Izy´s got it sussed. We did a similar type at the Group but it was a straight log cabin. Very effective.

I like this one better though. You lucky lady you. :D

I just knew someone on here would know what the pattern was! Many thanks to you all!....Izy if you have the pattern I would be grateful to you but if not don't worry.....I'm sure I'll find it somewhere!
The shoulder hasnt been too bad just lately, but it hasnt had a long sewing session...I've just been having an hour or two at a time so its not getting too much punishment! lol!

Karen

I have the book 101 Log Cabin Blocks by Linda Clausee which was bought in hobbycraft.
There are two patterns in there similar to the block on your bag.
One is Spinning Log Cabin & the other is Toppling Log Cabin.
I can photocopy both & pop them in the post to you, don't know exactly where you are in South Yorks but I am in Nottingham.
PM me your address if you want them.

That's the sort of thing I'd just stare at and never believe I could ever make it. That's outstanding.

Who thinks these blocks up? I'm amazed.

That bag is beautiful - love the colors. Do you think it will be hard? Also have the 101 log cabin book - has great designs.

sandpat 06-30-2008 04:20 PM

Those are mind boggling patterns to me. I think for now they will have to go into my to do someday file. Are they to Paper piece Izy?

huggyface 06-30-2008 04:57 PM

that is really neat, you can do so much with the log cabin. how many bags are on the drawing board?

huggyface 06-30-2008 05:01 PM

sandpat.don't let that scare you.like you I though that looks hardbut,an 88 year young lady showed me how on an old treddle machine, she put the pedal to the medal and before I could blink she had it whipped up. go for it you will be amazed

Yes Sandpat....I have to admit I am rather tempted to try, as I think once you start it will not be as difficult as you think, on the site it gives you a full page print out so you can colour it with your chosen design then it helps you to piece it together....like you said...one day..... :D :D

sandpat 07-01-2008 04:33 AM

I have several projects going right now, so I think it will wait for a little bit. It is 1 that just keeps rearing up its head saying...try me, try me!!! :D
