I like adding the mariner's compass. Haven't read all the replies, but I would just outline stitch (hand quilting). Don't worry about adding something intricate ..... your wide-open spaces aren't that large. Beautiful quilt; beautiful colors.

I like the Mariners Compass block. Love the fur "trim"!

would love to see it after the final stitching. it is beautiful.

I love the second one. God bless.

Now the other problem that I am having is trying to figure out how once the top is finished, how to quilt the quilt. any suggestions would be helpful. I am also very new and have only done a decorative stitch in the ditch. the blocks in the middle are just samples I have made for another quilt the will be having these same blocks in them. making a twin bed set for my son for when he is moved to a big boys bed. By the way, I had to see if MY inspector was in my room! Your inspector looks identical to mine! LOL i will get a pic of her and post! LOL |
Your quilt blocks are very pretty...love the colors you choose. I like the second photo. Please show a picture of the finished project.
Peace and Blessings |
I also vote for # 2. Great job so far. Not experienced enough tooffer anything about the quilting.

Could you please tell us the name of the "other" block. I would love to make a quilt like this. Are they paper pieced? Would love some hints, tips and tricks, if I may copy!

I love ther meriner's compass but the dark blue in the center really draws my eye too! You could use the compass in the center and make the extra dark blue one into a small throw pillow for the bed! Keep us posted on the finished project :)
