Your quilt, your way. I kinda think the first may be a bit too busy for my taste and, of course, would show offf the quilting nicely. Eithe way would b vey nice, however.

Beautiful, I like pic #1 and I am assuming #3 is your quilting plan, which sets it off beautifully! Great job planning it all out. Lucky kids.

No 2 but they are both lovely

I like them both, but I lean a little toward the 2nd as it's not quite as busy ... and I like the idea that the pretty quilting motif's will show up.

I like the 2nd picture
I vote for the first one.
I like #3. It seems more peaceful and I like the blue in it.
I like #1 :)
I like the first one.
here is another possibility........second design w/alternate blank blocks......use beige for sashing of all, use solid blue as alternates in center and green as setting triangles on ends, but I would add a border just to confine the design, not large, but of same color as setting triangles and after all the work of piecing and quilting the body, having to flip to do the opposite borders is "easy"........JMHO

I like the second one with a beautiful quilted motif in the solid blocks.
# 3 really caught my eye!!!!
I vote for #1.
Great block! Your son and DDIL are lucky! I like #2, because it makes the eye move around the quilt. I would use the light background for the 'blank' blocks instead of the tan, IMHO. Also, I'd use the tan sashing of #1. The quilting design is lovely. Much better than 'in the ditch.' And the 'blank' squares will really show off the quilting.

Love #1. and your quilting design.
I like the first one

#1-23 votes, #2-26 votes, #3-5 votes. The votes seem pretty even. I like them both. How much time do you have? I am really no help as I can see the possibilities of both. Please let us know what you decide. Good Luck. BrendaK

They are both beautiful, but I like the first one best.
I love the first one!
I would go for #1......the quilting motif is gorgeous.
I like the first one the best.
I like both but 2nd one a bit more.
I really like the second one best
My taste is #2
I like #1 the most. The quilting is gorgeous on both
No. 2 is a.calmer quilt and the quilting would really accent the pattern.
either one will n be a blue ribbon winner! |
#1 all or pretty
Number 2 really poped for me!!
I really like the 3rd one. Good luck deciding...
I vote for # 1
#2 has my vote!
The second one, show off your quilting! It is a great layout!
my personal favorite would be number one
I like #1.
I suggest that you do the one you are leaning towards! You will be doing a lot of work on this quilt so I think it should be the one you will enjoy making the most. (and I agree with your choice as well!)
both are beautiful, The second with the quilting you have chosen will show up better.IMO
I vote for 1, because it appeals to me the most....has some masculine elements, which I think are good for a wedding quilt.

I am trying to design a king size quilt for my son and future DIL for their wedding in March. It needs to be blue and green basically, and since it's so huge, I do not wish to do any stitch in the ditch or add borders as I don't want to turn the quilt to quilt them... so I am designing the quilt around that criteria, which limits my choices.
Which of these 2 quilts do you prefer, keeping in mind that the attached representation of the quilting would be the same for either one, only the quilting on the solid tan blocks would really pop if I chose that layout instead of the first one... although I'm leaning towards the first one. Thank you in advance! |
#1 gets my vote! Good luck.
I like #1 best.
