The card trick block is one you don't see a lot of any more, not sure why, as it's a great block. Those fabrics are so totally awesome and I'm sure your friend will love the placemats.

it is very pretty. The Card Trick has been on my "to do" list ever since I started quilting. I have a king size quilt on my bed (card trick) that someone made for me over 20 years ago and I love the pattern.
