The Cat and the Wisteria
2 Attachment(s)
This started out as a little exercise in architectural features ( a door) and ended up with 5 gazillion French knots.
But it should warm you up just looking at it. Thanks to the board members who passed on a few hints on doing all those knots..... And who doesn't love cats. MaryKatherine |
Beautiful work, well done.

I have yet to master a french knot. I bet you are a pro now! Love the subtle cat almost hidden amongst the thread play. I would have had trouble finding it if you had not posted the closeup!
It turned out great! Your kitty looks like he is contemplating a trip up the wisteria vine.:)
That is just stunning. I'm in awe!
very nicely done... and so much patience!
Fantastic! love the artistic work.

Hi! Have you Been to Provence? My husband took this photo of me seated in front of a private home inside the walled city of Aigues Mortes. Looks like your quilt, doesn't it?
Oh My Goodness! This is gorgeous!
I love wisteria! The smell is intoxicating. The only thing I don't like is it drops things all year to pick up and it will warp a fence completely out of shape as it grows thicker.
I really enjoy your picture mary kathrine. It is so European. |
Very pretty. I use to do the french knots when I embroidered. Never that many at once.
Incredible work!

Beautiful. I love that you used either varigated or a variety of thread colors for the flowers.

That is one stunning piece of work!
beautifully done! love it! I know how you feel about the gazillion knots, I did a stained glass lamp shade in the wisteria pattern!
You do beautiful work.
On our way to Sudbury we have stayed in Guelph. If we do it again I just might have to look you up. |
I agree, a beautiful wall hanging and the cat has mischief in his eyes!!!!!

I can not imagine making all those French knots. It is a beautiful quilt. Love the cat in the corner too.
OMG, all those knots! I love the composition and, of course, cats!
WOW wonderful job of knotting..I get twisted up with one...
Love the way some old posts are finding their way back. I love this quilt and all those knots were worth the time and effort.

Beautiful interpretation. I grew up thinking every place had wisteria in the back yard, or it should. It completely filled a large catalpa tree.
