You're under way! Nice job, and thanks for the link.

I slept under one years ago at a friend's - does not move and feels like being under a sheet of lead.
I stopped making mine and gave what I'd done away.
Beautiful as a bedspread if that's what one wants.

It's definitely a VERY heavy quilt!!! My DM made one(king size) and she just keeps in on the quilt rack to display(she doesn't have a king bed). She made it all by hand, No machine piecing or quilting! It's stunning!
I guess if you lived in the northern states in the winter(not FL. like me & my DM) it'd be perfect for daily use.
I'm going to start mine this fall!!

Jerrie, your CW quilt will be awesome & very colorful!!

I have seen this video before. I would think that by using this method your quilt will be not quite so heavy. I think it is a good way to make the CW. Much quicker than by hand, and just as nice looking. I believe it would be the only way I would ever get one made!

Very nice, I have copy of video.

great job...that is how I made mine also

However I cut my 4 squares 3 3/4 so I could square them up easier to 6 1/2

I made the block on the machine, then hand-stitched the windows....

After watching the video angain , and seeing the back of Jerrie's block, I see it will need to have a backing. Will you use batting? And how do you plan to quilt it? I wonder if it could be done in a QAYG (Fun&Done) manner, therefore, having sashings?

aorlflood 07-14-2010 06:59 AM

THanks for posting the link! It looks like something I might try!

Your blocks are beautiful!
