I think I'm about half way. It's taking longer than I had thought. It does get heavy quick. I am going to make another section this size then piece the two together. I think it will make it easier to work with.

osmom 01-21-2010 08:23 AM

You are doing a fabulous job. I love the bright colors. I took a cathedral window class and working in sections was one of the hints. It makes it easier to get to the windows. I look forward to seeing the finished quilt.

dakotamaid 01-21-2010 09:10 AM

I absolutely love this! Would you consider doing a tutorial on how to do this pattern?

debbie17 01-21-2010 10:52 AM

I love it, when I took my first quilting class that was the pattern we made, a pillow. I still have it, as a matter of fact I'm sitting on it right now. I never really considered a whole quilt, you, you have inspired me. Love your colors!!!!

jewelps 01-21-2010 11:05 AM

BeachBirdie 01-21-2010 11:32 AM

Thank you all!!! Everyone here is so kind...I just love it here! :D

To those of you wanting to try Cathedral Windows...do it! It's not hard. There are a lot of steps but once you get the hang of it, it becomes a breeze. Trust me, if I can do it...anyone can!

sylvia77 01-21-2010 11:40 AM

How about that tutorial?

vjengels 01-21-2010 11:44 AM

Hi Sylvia,
there was a tutorial on Simply Quilts a few years back, you might be able to access it still from the HGTV site.

BeachBirdie 01-21-2010 12:14 PM

This is the method I am using.

BeachBirdie - I did my CW the same way you will be doing yours - make 2 halves then put them together. It does get heavy and awkward. Yours is turning out beautifully.

Quilt Mom 01-21-2010 12:34 PM

That is just beautiful!!! Many years ago I decided to make that quilt, I made enough sqares to make a pocket on an apron I made for my Mother. I just had to find a way to use them, as it seemed to take forever. My hat is off to you for your beautiful work!!!

littlehud 01-21-2010 07:20 PM

Marcia 01-21-2010 07:39 PM
