There always has to be someone or in this case something to blame .....

I'm trying tooooo hard to master the stipple quilting on the borders of this quilt .... I know the tension is there, but haven't yet worked out how to ease it

Oh dear I didn't realise that I had shrunk the photos to the midget size

It is made using furnishing samples from my sister Claire's stash - she kindly gave me some to play with.

I'm so glad I decided to quilt with a dark blue thread.

Teresa--I hope you can make your pics a little bigger so that we can see them better. Your mom is going to love her quilt!!!!

If the stippling is causing you so much angst, then why don't you try a simpler pattern? Just some straight line quilting in a diamond pattern, for example.

Are your arm and shoulder any better?

Those are tiny pictures and my eyes are old. I'm sure it is wonderful.

This is a better size

As for the elbow - I have done 2/3 of the way around the quilt only on the outer border, and am not going to unpick again.

This quilt has seen too many trials of quilting for my liking.

This is a closer view of same quilt

This quilt was started 5 yrs ago and is going to enjoy being put to use soon!!

Like I said - I'm glad I've used dark blue thread for the quilting.

Looks like the photographer could do with a bit of help - sorry the images are not sharp enough.

Maybe I'm glad you can't tell much about the quilting. This one has been a bit of a trial.

While I'm here I'll have another go at sending the other WIP's undergoing completion.

I only need to finish the binding, then it's off to another home

This is the last one for now as I had better move on and get these projects finished, before I show how utterly fragmented my life is.

This one's actually finished and joins several others in different colour combinations that have been given as gifts.

My all time favourite tote, easy to make and very useful to boot.

Teresa--thanks for enlarging the photos. The quilt for your mom is really lovely.

I like your other projects too. Your life doesn't look as fragmented as mine---if I showed all of my UFO's I might crash this web site!!

I'm glad you figured out how to make the picture larger - love it! Hearts are one of my favorite themes for quilts, and I like gold and red together. Sorry the stippling hurt! It may be because the fabric is heavier than quilter's cotton. Are you using Quilter's gloves or something on your fingertips to help fight the battle with the quilt? They really help.

TeresaP 03-22-2009 01:37 PM

To be honest - I have just been battling with it convinced it would submit to my bullying tactics. I must say though, that I think I'm winning this war. I hve had to leave it for a few days as my paid employment called, and it has given my poor aching muscles a break.

I think that when I proceed with any large projects I will seriously have to look at what aids will suit me best. Besides sending the project off to have someone else complete the work.. who knows.
