Well, after two full days of fussing with this quilt, I am humbled to finally have it done! It is a 24" square quilt called Celtic Fire from the Karen Combs book, "Celtic Pieced Illusions".

It is gorgeous in the book, but it was not easy. I believe I am out of practice making 9 patch squares with 1.5" squares! I can't believe how hard this quilt was to piece accurately. I am now trying to figure out how to make it on a fusible 1" grid! LOL

Anyway, the colors did not photograph true...the are bright gold, purple, mauve/pink, and two shades of green on black. I quilted it with a sparkling gold thread so that the mismatched points wouldn't be so obvious. Don't look to hard! But it's done and I'm on to other things!

I like it! The colors really work. I think this is something my son would like...He has this one spot in his den that needs a quilted wall hanging. Hmmm...

Something easy, I hope! LOL But seriously I have about 20 quilt tops waiting to be quilted, so I think I better just get busy with my Bailey!

Love it!!! You could definitely do it on fusible grid - but get the diagonal grid, not the vertical/horizontal!!! (Doable on the vertical/horizontal, of course, but with lots of waste.)

That's really pretty. I love the colors you used. But it does look very daunting. I think you did a nice job! :D :D
