Chain Link

This pattern is called Chain Link. I purchased it from the Martingale site, but I see that the site has since closed down. The pattern is also in the book Link to the 30s: Making the Quilts We Didn't Inherit. The block requires a partial seam, but it goes quickly.
I changed the pattern by making my quilt bigger and setting the blocks on point. I love the prairie points that are in the pattern, but I didn't want them on a bed sized quilt, so I invented a different border. I quilted it freehand on my Innova. |
That is absolutely beautiful!! And you quilted it freehand!?!? Wow! I am in awe. I love your border too--pseudo prairie points--what a great idea! Might have to steal that one.

Beautiful quilt! Nice work.

Beautiful quilt that is terrifically quilted too. Congratulations.
|
Gorgeous! I love how you did the prairie points the way you did. Beautiful quilt!
|
I love the border addition. it complements it so well!
|
I love everything about your quilt....the pattern, colors, borders, quilting....everything! To me, any quilt on point is so much more appealing & different from the norm. It's absolutely beautiful.
|
Wonderful quilt. my mind goes, nope. I really, really would need to heed the pattern closely. Great job!
|
Beautiful, also bright and cheerful

So pretty! I've never been a fan of prairie points, but I like your version.
