Chain piecing...forever...!
1 Attachment(s)
I must have lost my mind. However, it Is somewhat relaxing...
2500 precut triangles had for $1 at a local thrift shop. I envision a quilt with little rhyme or reason. Just pieced and quilted. We shall see! |
Quite an undertaking. Be sure to post a picture of the finished quilt.
At least you didn't have to cut them :) Can't wait to see what the result is.
Lol :).........
What a challenge!! Looking forward to seeing how this quilt comes out!
Oh my, what a challenge! Will be waiting to see how it looks when you get it all put together! Good luck!!!, and enjoy the journey!
Only $1.00 - quite a deal - I am impressed that you counted them. So what will you be making?
Can't beat that! Can't wait to see the finish. :D
Awesome !!!!!
just a suggestion- put a small CLEAN trash can or box for them to fall into.. it sorta keeps them from getting tangled.. instead of pulling the first one pull the last one sewed.. |
You did good for your dollar these days. lol... I also look forward to seeing what you finish with. Have fun!
A great bargain, I would say. Be sure and post the finished project.
Wow, a real bargain...your finished project will be beautiful.
What an awesome bargin, I'm going cross eyed just looking at your chain but oh what fun.
I also will be looking to see what you make with all this fabric. BrendaK
I usually use an empty laundry basket when I chain piece. And it IS alot easier to pull them back up to cut them from the end. Can't wait to see pictures.
I've been putting together 3.5 inch squares I got from a generous board member here. Didn't count them at the start, but now I have them in four patches--681 four patches! You're right; it is relaxing. When I want to sew, but not to think too much, I pull them out.
Great buy for you! :) |
oh goodness be sure to show us end!!!
I think cutting is the hard part, but I love chain piecing when I'm in the mood for mindless sewing. Sounds like a great project to me. Can't wait to see what you do with all those HST. There are so many possibilities.
Looking forward to the finished quilt.
:-). You go girl!
Have you thought of using them as leader/enders while stitching another quilt. Check out Bonnie Hunter's method at http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/...-and-hows.html I am getting the blocks for a scrappy 9P pieced as I sew my other blocks.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product. I am not sure I would have bought them.
Wow!! Can't wait to see when you are all done with this.
I think it is safe to say you are a true chain piece sewer. You might have fun with your triangles angling around.
What a great deal for $1.00. Cutting fabric is my least favorite thing to do. Are you making a quilt with it?? Or two?? Have fun. Your picture makes me smile. What a cute photo to frame for your sewing room :)
Just put on the music and SEW!

WOW - what an ambitious project. I look forward to seeing the finished quilt, but you definitely don't have a lot of money invested. LOL.
A friend gave me a bag of hst. I love them. Couldn't wait to piece them and then....it dawned on me...putting them together meant matching points until the 'cows come home'. Made a medium sized wall hanging and am not sure if I should thank my friend or not.
Can't wait to see it finished!!!
TRIangles??? not sure if I would have taken them home or not...hmmm...those chains sound like just another cat toy to me.....don't stop, keep your foot on the pedal........OMG, how long does it take to sew 2500 together?????
Sounds like a Bonnie Hunter type of project. Definitely a good deal. Have fun!
Great haul for $1!!! Can't wait to see your quilt! Keep pushing on the 'Chain Gang'!
great buy !
