I just sort of made up the pattern as I went. I had a diamond template so I cut my black diamonds and started with that, then added 1"strips to the top 2 sides.

I found some Shiva paintsticks at a yard sale which I used for the leaves. I cut a stencil out of a sticky vinyl (like a signwriter would use) and sponged on the paint. I like the effect. I have heard the paint is permanent when dry, but I haven't had time to test it yet.

Well done Woody, what a great interpretation of autumn in canberra... but heard that it's freezing there now, or else my kids are soft :)
