Beautiful! What an heirloom. And I'd say that your skills were MORE than up to the challenge!

mame13 04-27-2011 03:33 AM

Beautiful, your hands must have been in overdrive to embroider all these blocks in such a short time. what a treasure to own.

Aquarius 04-27-2011 03:46 AM

It's funny!! I made this exact same quilt. It took me 10 years to finally complete. Had trouble finding all the blocks, but finally finished it. Gave it to my youngest daughter. I made it large and it fit her queen size bed with about 4 blocks left over. Did you find that the printed material was very thin? I did. thank you

cjaye44 04-27-2011 04:12 AM

I think these cross stitched blocks have been under rated for years...they make beautiful quilts. Yours is one of those beauties!!!

#1piecemaker 04-27-2011 04:46 AM

Absolutely one of the prettiest quilts I've ever seen.

SuzyQ 04-27-2011 04:48 AM

Omygosh!!! This is a heart stopper, it's so pretty.

macygma 04-27-2011 09:28 AM

My mom (now 100) made this same quilt for my daughter. Daughter is now 29 and it's still hanging in her home.

clhornak 04-27-2011 09:40 AM

A joint venture by both grandmas. That makes that quilt extra special and so beautiful!

Ziva 04-27-2011 09:45 AM

Beautiful!! No wonder she asked you to make the quilt!! Great job!

OKLAHOMA PEACH 04-27-2011 09:50 AM

Well you all did a super wonderful job, love it, great work

dunster 04-27-2011 10:20 AM

How special that it was made by two grandmas. It is beautiful. I can't believe that the other grandma can do such beautiful cross stitch but can't sew on a button... maybe she just doesn't want to? LOL

buckeyed 04-27-2011 10:22 AM

G O R G E O U S!!! Much time and love went into that beautiful creation!!

DMotyl 04-27-2011 10:26 AM

Lucy90 04-27-2011 11:18 AM

What a beautiful quilt and it looks so dainty and comfy

Nanjun 04-27-2011 11:24 AM

I can't imagine the time spent for all the cross stitching.
I use to do it but cant see that well anymore.
This quilt is beautiful.

labug 04-27-2011 11:56 AM

Wow love it

Jingle 04-27-2011 02:55 PM

Thanks everyone for all the nice words.
I feel so pleased that so many people like it.
Yes, I'm sure the cross stitch fabric was thin and have some poly in them. If it isn't washed real often it should wear very well.

Karen K. 04-27-2011 03:11 PM

Very nice. I am sure "Grandma" is delighted to see it all together.

judyhh 04-27-2011 03:58 PM

THAT BEAUATIFUL QUILT IS JUST STITCHED WITH LOVING FINGERS AND LOVING HEARTS. AS A GRANDMOTHER MYSELF. I LOVE DOING FOR MY GRANDCHILDREN. I CAN IMAGINE THE PRIDE THESE GRANDMOTHERS AND THE GRANDDAUGHTER MUST HAVE IN THIS HEIRLOOM QUILT.......

Iamquilter 04-27-2011 04:26 PM

I have that same block that I did years ago. I didn't put any sashing in it and used a backing that had all the colors of the block in it. Hanging on my quilt rack right now, never been used. Tried to sell it one time, but no takers. Not giving it away either, too much work in it.

sewingsuz 04-27-2011 04:28 PM

OH Wow!! This is stunnig.

ktmo815 04-27-2011 04:36 PM
