Fresh off the sewing machine today. I have been working on this runner for a lady who custom ordered it. She brought me the fabric and requested two Halloween rugs. She requested a runner. Her dimensions were 30" wide and 8-10' long. It finished at 30 inches wide and 8'8" long. I still have to make her second rug, but her v dimensions will be 50"x65" long. The runner was a 78" center start. One of the tricks to jelly roll rugs, is a straight center start. I can see a bit of a curve on one end, but overall it's pretty good. I plan on a 20" start for her next rug. After these are done, it's two Christmas rugs for her. Thank you for looking. It was fun to make. |
Love this Halloween rug....how festive! Made from a jelly roll or just odds and end strips in the right colors?

I love it! I will have to google how to make one but I thank you for sharing your measurements as my table is really long, sits 12. I would like one of these. How much fabric did it take, do you remember?

That is so nice. I made a smaller one for my coffee table and use it all the time.

Fantastic job!

Thank you everyone for the comments and questions. It took 118 strips. She bought six jelly rolls from our local quilt shop. The jelly rolls were cut and put together by the shop owner. I currently have two more jelly rolls for her next rug, but will need two more to reach the size she has requested, (I will need 98 strips). The local quilt shop owner that cuts and makes up her own jelly rolls, puts 30 in each roll.
