They are each so so pretty. :)

They are beautiful, so good of you to donate them. They will be much appreciated. I need to find a place for about 30-35 quilts I have stored away. All my Family friends and some people I don't know have several of my quilts.

Homespun 04-15-2015 05:24 AM

Nice quilts and nice for the people at the home,

Sharonquilts 04-15-2015 05:45 AM

Thank you for all your nice comments. I started quilting as a way to "give back" and had no idea quilting would become so addictive. Ha! I am now working on a quilt for me (a Bargello) finally.

The quilts above are probably about a small Lap size (40" x 45") so they can also be used for those in wheelchairs. I am working on a few more (to be posted later) and one is 38" x 68". I get a lot of joy doing this and hope the residents enjoy using them as much as I enjoy making them. The Manager said they can use lap & twin size and need them year round.

Jingle, check around your area. I am affiliated with a church group of quilters and there is always a need for quilts for babies, foster kids and the elderly. Also there is an organization that collects fabrics, blocks, tops or finished quilts to people who have lost their home due to a natural disaster.

Great job! It is so nice to make donation quilts, they are so appreciated and so much love goes into them.

Texastam 04-15-2015 06:12 PM

Jingle I know our quilt guild donates to Wounded Warriors (military men and women that have been wounded). Project Linus which gives blankets to children's hospitals. Check out local charities in and around you there is always a need for a warm blanket full of love to someone in need. If that doesn't work you can send them my way and I will make sure they get used...lol

Nicely done. Love the Yellow, Pink and Turq. combination. The first quilt caught my attention as I have shoe boxes full of strips. This would be a good way to thin out my stash.

purplefiend 04-16-2015 01:15 PM

I like making charity quilts. I make them for kids and Wounded Warriors(Fort Hood army base). I've just cut out 2 more quilts.

audsgirl 04-16-2015 01:37 PM

Outstanding! I like that they aren't all feminine, but will work for men, too. How nice of you!
